What if... we treated Marriage like......

Marriage is nothing to be taken lightly.
I'm not a marriage expert, but I have been married for over 30 years.
I've done some thing right, and I've totally screwed some things up.
Recently, I've really had a burden on my heart for all the many couples who, for some reason either one or both, don't view marriage as a permanent commitment.
I'm an avid reader.  I read anything with pages, within reason.  I'm also noticing that there are more and more authors and well know Christian writers who are also concerned about the lack of passion and commitment in a marriage.

Here are a few little tips I've learned from my readings:

1.  You MUST love Christ more and completely, so that you can love your
spouse like Christ intended. (this is totally true and life changing!)Get the order correct!God, Spouse, Children,.(watch out moms, kids tend to drain us and take 1st place in our lives.. it's a tricky order to keep.)
2.  Your husband wants to be your hero, ladies.  Let him!!!
3.  Husbands, your wife wants to know you'll love her and think she's gorgeous
even after having your babies, and she's a little thicker around the middle.
4.  You must let your spouse know you are proud of them.  Verbalize it!
5.  Pray for your spouse daily!!!
6.  Send your spouse sweet supportive and romantic text messages throughout
the day.  It will make their day!!
7.  Never go to bed mad.  Always kiss and say I love you first thing in the
morning and the last thing before you go to sleep.
8.  Go on dates. (I don't care how long you've been married.  Date each other
     like it's your first date!)
9.  I was reading Colossians 3:12,13 & 14 today.  Here it is.  While reading it,
think about how you could apply all of this to your spouse.  Wouldn't life be
so much easier if we did?!
Can I get an Amen!!

Col. 3:12,13 & 14  12 Therefore, as God's chosen people, holy and dearly loved, clothe yourselves with compassion, kindness, humility, gentleness and patience.13 Bear with each other and forgive one another if any of you has a grievance against someone. Forgive as the Lord forgave you.14 And over all these virtues put on love, which binds them all together in perfect unity.

Wow!!  That's powerful!!
10.  Lastly, never give up on your marriage.  Anything worth having, is worth working for!
And that my friend, is my soapbox statement for the day.

What Grandma's Do.

It's interesting watching a little 21 month old place and plot his next move.  He carefully placed each crayon between my toes.  If some toes seemed to close together, he would use his chubby little fingers to pry my toes apart in order to slip the crayon in it's place.

What is the logic in this?  Why would he want to put crayons between his Grandma's toes? No one will ever know.  He's 21 months old. He doesn't have to be logical. He's working.

Grandma: Please let me take your picture.  You're such a pretty little princess.  Can you put your hands down and smile pretty for grandma?  Okay, so I take that as a no.  Well, what if I give you some gummy bears?  You keep staring at me.  So, I'm guessing that really does mean no.  Ok. Just let me snap it as is.  Never mind.

I think even Mason decided he wasn't going to smile for pictures.  You win some ...you lose some.  Even when they don't smile, they are so darn cute!
Grandma's chase babies around with a camera.  She crawls on the grass, getting grass stains on her clothes, chigger bites, ant bites, and spiderwebs stuck in her hair... BUT she will eventually get the shots of her sweet little Grand babies!  It's how we Grandma's of 2012 Roll!!!

Life's a Beach!

There is just something about the beach. It's peaceful. Quiet. Tranquil.  Calm.  Relaxing.  Still. Serene. Soothing. Private......Mood setting.Undisturbed. Loving.

We always look forward to going to the beach. There is just something about walking on the beach in the morning.  The sunrise.  The fresh smooth sand.  The peace.  I always feel an extra closeness to God at the beach.

This is not a typical day at the beach... but it was relaxing.

Amazon.com

Hello.  My name is Suzanne, and I'm addicted to Amazon.com.

I am a Prime Member.

I order so many books, toys, dvd's, and whatever happens to pass my way, that they no longer feel a need to charge me shipping.
They are making enough money from me with my many purchases.

I've even gone as far, as ... ordering.... chipmunks on Amazon.  Now, it's not what you think.
No animals were harmed in this purchase.
But, I was in a hot pursuit to find Theodore.
Gas isn't free now a days and my grand daughter was missing Theodore.
Rest assure. Theodore has been found. He was lost in the Amazon. A ransom of $5.99 was all it cost and he was sent to my door step, tax & shipping free in two days.
Who does that?
Amazon.com does.

I refuse to comment on all the "books" I have purchased on Amazon.com for fear that it might
cause a gang of "tree-hugging, tie-dye t-shirt, granola eating, hippies"  to invade my residential area with signs saying, " Save the Forest", "Stop buying books"
"Go Green or Go Home."
Well, I am home. On line... buying books from Amazon.com

Think of it this way.
I am boosting the economy.

Just in case you feel the need to investigate, here's a link.www.amazon.com

There should be a Warning Label.
They are NOT responsible for your shopping addiction.

Running....

I put on my drop dead sexy running outfit, shoes, iPhone, water bottle (you know you want a picture).. and just as I approach the door.....

there she stands... looking at me with those big eyes..
Gracie-the motivator!
So,off "we" go!
Now, you gotta understand.Straight from the gate is this..
ok... so maybe it's not "that" big of a hill. But, you try to run it. It's a killer hill. I promise, I need an oxygen tank hidden in the woods!  It's not pretty folks, it's not pretty.

My goal is to be able to run a half a marathon before I turn 50.  That clock is ticking like a dang time bomb and my wick is getting shorter every month.

I like running.... like a dog likes fleas, like a garden likes weeds, like a fat man likes the word "diet".

Which, leads to "why" I run.
F.P.F
Flippin' Physical Fittness.

The older I get, the more gravity pulls me down like a piece of melted cheese on the hot pavement.

See... this chocolate cake?
I gained 6.3 lbs just downloading it and putting it on my blog.  If I could smell it, it would add another 4 oz.

This is why I run.

I had to set goals...
So, these are my goals...

1.  Run! so I don't look like I'm wearing spandex filled with three day old cottage cheese.
2.  Run! so that I don't grunt and groan every time I get up off the couch. (it's not a pleasant sound)
3.  Run! so I can chase my grand kids around the house.
4.  I want to be able to say, "I ran a half-marathon" before i turned 50. (I think that's called "bragging-rights")  Who knows, maybe I'll run a full marathon some day. (yeah, I'm pretty sure that's a "NOT")

So, here I am...
49, my slightly fluffy physic, smile, and all the determination of a Chihuahua chasing a semi truck!  In hopes that he'll catch it someday.  Not that he'll know what to do with it when he does.

Okay.... one last picture...
My husband..... who's a running maniac!

NOT... lol
Okay... here he is...

He's a cutie pie.
He runs to relieve stress.
Pretty sure it gives me stress.. but that's another blog another day.
